The Day of Arafah is the ninth day in the lunar Hijri month of Dhul Hajjah and the day when the rituals of Hajj begin.

On this day, the Hajj pilgrims all go to the Arafat (Arafah) desert, praying to God, repenting and thanking God for giving them the opportunity to perform Hajj

After saying the Noon and Asr prayers, and reciting supplications on the hills of Jabal Rahmah, the pilgrims move toward Mashaar Al-Haram so that they can be in Mina on the day of Eid al-Adha.

Photos and videos of Quran reading in Gaza on Day of Arafah have been shared in social media, attracting praise from social media users who say the sever conditions in the Palestinian enclave, which has been facing a genocidal war waged by the Israeli regime for over eight months, have not prevented the people from reading, reciting and memorizing the Holy Book.

These people reading Quran in refugee camps teach the lesson of steadfastness and fortitude to the world, one user wrote in Facebook.

Quran memorization centers in Gaza have continued their activities and new ones have been set up in refugee camps despite the ongoing war with many volunteers teachings the Quran to children and young boys and girls of different ages.

Since the Israeli regime waged its genocidal war on October 7, 2023,, more than 37,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, most of them women and children, and nearly 84,500 others injured, according to local health authorities.

Eight months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of the Gaza Strip lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.

Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt its operation in the southern city of Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
